Head To Head: Vw Vr6 Vs. Hyundai Genesis
The VR6 is believed to be the best looking sedan ever built by Volkswagen which doesn't really look like a VW at all. The design and looks of this car is really far from the conventional VW models. On the other hand, the Genesis is the pride and glory of the Korean car manufacturer Hyundai in the category of upscale mid-sized sedan. These two sedans are claimed to be the symbols of their respective brands in competing in the sedan automobile market. Each of these two has its own features to brag about so we will look through those features to determine which one is a better buy.
"Is that really a Volkswagen?" This is the initial reaction of those who will see the VR6 for the first time. Well, this reaction is not so surprising since that the VR6 is really not supposed to look like a typical Volkswagen car in contrary to other models. The VR6 is being described by its ford repair manuals as the company's entry into the four-door coupe-styled sedan class. The roofline of this model is low with a windshield that is fast-moving accompanied by a backlight. The engine used to power this car is a V6 which has cylinder banks that are only separated 10.6 degrees from each other which enables a higher compactness. Its engine which actually has 24 valves can produce 280 horsepower at 6200 RPM and an amazing 265 lb-ft of torque at 2750. In addition, the engine becomes very flexible due to its low torque and broad spread revolutions. It means that the engine will always push the car even when the slightest press on the throttle is applied. The VR6 also has impressive acceleration. It can achieve 60mph in just 6.6 seconds which can be considered to be quick in its class. Moreover, it is a 4-wheel drive sedan that has robust grip on the road that adds up to its handling and safety. The interior of this $38,000 sedan is also very luxurious. It has a state of the art navigation system, deeply-bolstered seats, and other interesting gadgets. It offers passengers a very exiting yet elegant riding experience.
The Hyundai Genesis is also considered as a very nice sedan. See this in automotive repair manuals. It boasts of magnificent features especially in its interior. The company is claiming that this model offers specifications that you can find in $50,000 sedans for only $30,000. The Korean company aims to change the outlook of many people to their brand with the Genesis. The car operates on a V8 engine which is not as powerful as that of the VR6 of VW. In addition, the car is rear-wheel drive only which disappoints many buyers who expect more. In terms of its exterior, many people believe that it has a well-balanced and elegant appearance. The interior is also highly satisfying because it actually has high-end internal feature that you can find in more expensive sedans.
In general, these two cars are actually great choices for their class. However in terms of reliability, the Volkswagen VR6 is still the better pick. Yes it is more expensive but it is worth the price. It has better power; acceleration, design, and riding comfort that will really satisfy any driver or passenger. The Genesis is simply so flashy that there is a big possibility that durability had been undermined just because the company wanted to offer more modern add-ons. The features in the 1500 goldwing repair manule for VR6 are simpler compared to the Hyundai Genesis yet they make the car more user-friendly. What is the use of those cool features from the Genesis if the car won't last long anyway? Besides, the VR6 is a Volkswagen and Hyundai cannot spell out quality as much as Volkswagen can.
